Do DHEA supplements help increase sex drive in women?

Over-the-counter DHEA (dehydroepiandrosterone) supplements are promoted as another way to help increase testosterone in the body. There's little reliable evidence that they reduce menopausal symptoms or improve sexual function in healthy women. In one study, published in 2009 in The Journal of Sexual Medicine, researchers gave 93 postmenopausal women with low libido either 50 milligrams of DHEA or a placebo daily. After six months, they found no difference in satisfying sexual experiences or well-being between the two groups.
