When can I stop taking Tylox?

You can stop taking Tylox (acetaminophen and oxycodone) when you no longer need it to relieve pain, when it no longer works for you or if you experience side effects from the drug that are serious or that you can't tolerate. However, do not stop taking Tylox without talking to your doctor. Because this drug contains the narcotic oxycodone, your body can become dependent on it, and you may experience withdrawal symptoms if you quit taking it abruptly. When it's time for you to go off Tylox, your doctor will likely help you to taper down your dose to prevent withdrawal. Tylox is prescribed to treat moderate to moderately severe pain on an as-needed basis.
