What are possible side effects of Tylenol with Codeine?

The most common side effects of Tylenol with Codeine (acetaminophen and codeine) include drowsiness, light-headedness, dizziness, shortness of breath, nausea and vomiting. Some of these can be relieved by lying down.

Other possible side effects of this prescription pain reliever include:
  • allergic reaction, which may cause itching, hives, swelling of the face, mouth or throat and difficulty breathing
  • euphoria (feeling elated or ecstatic)
  • dysphoria (feeling depressed or anxious)
  • constipation
  • abdominal pain
  • difficulty urinating
  • skin rash
  • nosebleeds or bruising
  • flu-like symptoms
You should call your doctor immediately if you experience difficulty breathing or unusual changes in mood. You should also call your doctor if any other symptoms are bothersome or severe or do not go away.
