What is Norco?

Norco is a combination prescription medication used to treat moderate to moderately severe pain. It has two active ingredients: hydrocodone and acetaminophen. Norco is in a class of medications called narcotic (opioid) analgesics. It works by changing the way the brain and nervous system respond to pain.

Because of its potency, this drug is considered a high-alert medicine by the Institute for Safe Medication Practices and should be taken only by you and exactly as your doctor prescribes.
