What should I avoid while taking acetaminophen-codeine?

Several things should be avoided while taking acetaminophen-codeine. Do not drink alcoholic beverages while taking the medicine. Doing so may increase the risk of liver problems. Some over-the-counter drugs, including pain-killers and some cold remedies, contain acetaminophen. Taking these in combination with acetaminophen-codeine can result in overdose. Several other types of medications may produce adverse reactions with acetaminophen-codeine. Consult with your doctor concerning any other medications you take. You should avoid driving or using machinery if you feel drowsy as a result of taking acetaminophen-codeine.
