Possible side effects of taking acetaminophen-codeine include: drowsiness, dizziness, constipation, upset stomach, vomiting, rash, dry mouth and shortness of breath. More serious side effects include: labored breathing, fainting, changes of mood, confusion, stomach pain, unusually dark urine, unusually light-colored stools or a yellowing of skin or whites of the eyes.
