What precautions do I need to take when using capsaicin?

When using capsicum, avoid contact with eyes or open wounds and before using topically, do a skin test for sensitivity. Also, be sure to wash your hands thoroughly after usage. If taken orally in large doses, capsicum may cause stomach upset, vomiting, and diarrhea.
