Which other medications can react with Pamprin Multi-Symptom?

Pamprin Multi-Symptom contains multiple ingredients that can interact with a wide variety of medications. Because Pamprin Multi-Symptom can cause drowsiness, other medications that also have this effect can increase the severity of this symptom. Inform your doctor if you are using any of the following medications that may cause drowsiness:

  • anticoagulants such as warfarin
  • atropine
  • bronchodilators
  • cholestyramine
  • diabetes medications taken orally
  • gout medications such as probenecid
  • HIV medications such as idovudine
  • Isoniazid
  • medications to treat or prevent nausea, vomiting, or motion sickness
  • medicines to treat stomach ulcers, incontinence, or irritable bowel syndrome (IBS)

Pamprin Multi-Symptom contains acetaminophen, which has been known to increase risk of liver damage. The risk increases if you are also taking any of the following medications: 

  • ACE inhibitors such as benazepril, captopril, enalapril, fosinopril, lisinopril, quinapril, and others
  • antibiotics such as dapsone, erythromycin, or rifampin
  • antifungal medications such as fluconazole, itraconazole, or ketoconazole
  • arthritis medications such as auranofin
  • birth control pills or hormone replacement therapy
  • cancer medications
  • cholesterol lowering medications such as niacin, atorvastatin, lovastatin, simvastatin, and others
  • HIV/AIDS medications such as abacavir/lamivudine/zidovudine, lamivudine, nevirapine, tenofovir, or zidovudine
  • methotrexate
  • NSAIDs (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs) including ibuprofen, naproxen, diclofenac, etodolac, indomethacin, ketoprofen, and others
  • seizure medications such as carbamazepine, phenytoin, and others
  • tuberculosis medications

The use of alcohol during Pamprin Multi-Symptom treatment may increase the chance of liver damage. Do not drink alcohol during your treatment.

Tell your doctor if you need to start a new medication while using Pamprin Multi-Symptom.
