Is meclofenamate safe for older adults?

Meclofenamate can increase the risk of stomach pain, ulcers, and stomach and intestinal bleeding. The risk may be greater if you are older, or if you have been taking meclofenamate or other nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) for a long time. Meclofenamate can also increase your risk of heart attack or stroke. The risk may be greater if you have already had an heart attack or stroke, or if you have heart disease.
