How does Asacol interact with other medications or foods?

You should not use Asacol along with the Varicella virus vaccine. Asacol may also have interactions with ardeparin, certoparin, dalteparin, danaparoid, enoxaparin, nadroparin, parnaparin, reviparin, tamarind, tinzaparin, and warfarin. These interactions may increase the likelihood of experiencing side effects. You should also let your doctor know if you're on the following medication:





•amphotericin B


•antiviral medicines

•cancer medicine

•aspirin or other NSAIDs (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs)  

Some supplements and over-the-counter medication may also interact with Asacol. Let your doctor know any of these that you take.
