Can I use Zydone if I am taking a seizure medication?

If you are taking a seizure medication, talk to your doctor before taking the prescription pain medication Zydone (hydrocodone and acetaminophen). Zydone may interact with certain seizure medications, raising the risk for side effects, including liver damage. In addition, Zydone, if taken in excess, may cause seizures in some people.

Before you start taking Zydone, you should give your doctor and pharmacist a list of all your other medicines (prescription and nonprescription) and dietary and herbal supplements. If you do go on Zydone, do not take any new supplement or drug without consulting your doctor or pharmacist first. Be sure to give your doctor a detailed medical history, too, including your history of seizures.
