Can I use Tylox if I am taking Prozac?

If you're taking Prozac (fluoxetine) to treat depression or another condition, ask your doctor if you can also take Tylox (acetaminophen and oxycodone). Tylox, which is prescribed to treat moderate to moderately severe pain on an as-needed basis, contains oxycodone, an opioid (narcotic) pain reliever. Prozac is a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI). Taking Tylox with an SSRI such as Prozac can increase blood levels of oxycodone and exaggerate the drug's side effects, such as drowsiness and dizziness. Your doctor will want to monitor you closely if you take these two medications together.
