Most forms of amnesia, especially those that fade quickly, will not seriously harm the body. Wernicke-Korsakoff syndrome, on the other hand, if left untreated, can be life-threatening. Wernicke-Korsakoff Syndrome is a rare condition that typically affects those who abuse alcohol and lack proper nutrition.
