Are green coffee supplements safe for pregnant or nursing women?

Dr. Darria Long Gillespie, MD
Emergency Medicine
No. There is NO research on the effect of green coffee beans in women who are pregnant or breastfeeding, or on their children. So, we do not know what effect it will have on the child, and have no evidence that it is safe. As a result, I do not recommend it for use during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Before you take any medication, especially while pregnant or breastfeeding, it’s important to always first speak with your physician.
