You may be having an allergic reaction to one of the beauty products you've been using. Other allergic reactions, to the sun or animals, for example, could also affect your skin tone. Sun exposure is an especially common cause, particularly if you're on an antibiotic or birth control, which often makes your skin more sensitive to UV light. People suffering from hot flashes can also experience red, blotchy skin.
