Some negative effects of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) in kids may include the following:

- poor school performance
- low grades on tests, even though they studied
- serious worries or anxiety about school
- refusal to sleep
- refusal to join enrichment activities
- physical complaints
- increased activity, fidgeting, movement
- night terrors or nightmares
- aggressive behavior
- disobedience
- temper fits
- desire to harm self or others
