Almost everyone acts impulsive or hyperactive at times. This is normal behavior. But when you act impulsive and hyperactive day after day and these behaviors interfere with your life at home, school, or work, it may be a more serious problem called attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). If a child is hyperactive yet functions well at school, it may be normal behavior for that child.
