How does a child with ADHD feel?

Donna Hill Howes, RN
Family Medicine
A child with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) may feel that, no matter how hard he tries in life, he can never get it right. For most of their lives, kids with ADHD live with reminders and criticisms and are called names such as lazy or stupid. A child with ADHD is not lazy or stupid.

They have a condition that causes them to act differently. They may be more active when others are calm. Or they may be distracted when others are paying attention. Also, a child with ADHD can act impulsively, which sometimes gets them in trouble when they go in the wrong direction or blurt out the answer before they are supposed to speak.
