Are there acne-fighting cosmetics?

Dr. Mehmet Oz, MD
Cardiology (Cardiovascular Disease)
Some cosmetics may help fight acne. Cosmetics labeled non-acnegenic or non-comedogenic do not contain oil and are less likely to cause pimples. They also do not clog your pores. Acne is caused by excess oil and dead skin cells clogging your pores, so products that help to reduce oil buildup help fight acne. Apply acne-fighting cosmetics over your acne medication. You can wear the cosmetics daily, but wash your face each night. Use a gentle, non-abrasive cleanser and rinse with lukewarm water.
