Could my son’s sports uniform trigger his acne?

Karen L. Gorton, PhD, MS, RN
Emergency Room Nursing

While it is unlikely that your son's sports uniform triggers his acne, it is more likely that his activity level may be causing him to sweat more than he typically does. If this is the case, he needs to be sure to wash his skin with a good soap and rinse well after activity.

If there are continued problems after ensuring proper skin washing, you need to consider that perhaps your son's acne is reacting to the detergent used to clean the uniforms.
