When can I stop taking Altace?

Do not stop taking Altace (ramipril) unless directed by your doctor, even if your symptoms have improved. Altace does not cure high blood pressure, heart failure or cardiovascular problems; it can only treat them. If you stop taking Altace, these disorders can cause serious problems unless you switch to an alternate treatment.
