When should I call my doctor if I am using enalaprilat?

If you are getting injections of enalaprilat, a prescription medication for high blood pressure, call your doctor right away if you experience any of the following:
  • swelling of your face, throat, tongue, lips, eyes, hands, feet, ankles or lower legs
  • hoarseness
  • trouble breathing or swallowing
  • yellowing of your skin or eyes
  • fever, sore throat, chills
  • light-headedness
  • fainting
  • rash or hives
  • chest pain
  • decrease in amount of urine
  • unusual bleeding or bruising
You should also call your doctor if any of the following side effects bother you or don't go away:
  • cough
  • dizziness
  • rash
  • weakness
  • headache
  • nausea
  • tiredness
  • constipation
  • sexual problems
  • sun sensitivity
Be sure to call your doctor if you become pregnant while you're getting injections of enalaprilat. The drug may cause serious harm or even be fatal to a developing fetus. It is most dangerous in the second and third trimesters of pregnancy.

If you have a severe case of diarrhea or vomiting, or if you've been sweating a lot, call your doctor right away. Dehydration can increase your risk of side effects.

If you want or need to take a new medicine (prescription or nonprescription) or dietary supplement, call your doctor first. Enalaprilat can interact with a number of medications, increasing your risk of side effects.
