Before taking ramipril or any medication, discuss all allergies and current medications, including prescription and over-the-counter drugs, supplements and herbal products. Ramipril should never be given to children, pregnant women or breastfeeding women. Ramipril could interact with many other medications, including anti-inflammatory drugs (e.g. aspirin and ibuprofen), diuretics, diabetes medication, lithium and medications or supplements containing potassium. You may have complications if you suffer from angioedema, lupus, diabetes, scleroderma or heart, kidney or liver disease. Lastly, you should keep yourself well hydrated at all times when taking ramipril.
