What is Zestril?

Zestril (lisinopril) is a medication that treats high blood pressure. It may be prescribed alone for this purpose or with other medications. It's also used with other medicines to treat heart failure and to improve survival odds after a heart attack. It works by counteracting certain chemicals that tighten blood vessels. By keeping blood vessels open, it enhances blood flow and improves the heart's efficiency.
