Do any foods interact with Altace?

Altace (ramipril), a drug used to treat high blood pressure, does not interact with any foods. However, you should not use salt substitutes that contain potassium while taking Altace, unless directed by your doctor. Using a potassium-containing salt substitute while you're on Altace can make your blood level of potassium climb dangerously high.

While you're taking Altace, be sure to follow your doctor's instructions for diet, particularly recommendations for a low-sodium diet, which may help lower your blood pressure.
