What is the usual dose for Altace (ramipril)?

The recommended starting dose of Altace (ramipril) to treat high blood pressure is 2.5 milligrams (mg) once a day. Your doctor will adjust the dose after seeing how your body responds to this medication.

People taking this drug to reduce their risk of heart attack, stroke or cardiovascular disease usually have their dose increased to 10 mg after several weeks, depending on how well they respond to the drug.

Be sure to follow your doctor's directions and take Altace only as prescribed.
