Are there any risks in taking enalapril?

Enalapril is a well-tolerated medication and most people have few or no side effects. There is a rare possibility of severe allergic reactions. If severe swelling of the face and limbs occurs, seek immediate medical assistance. There have been rare occurrences of liver failure, kidney failure, blood cell disorders and extreme low blood pressure in people taking enalapril. It should not be taken during pregnancy, as it can cause injury and death to a fetus. People who have poor kidney function should be closely monitored while taking enalapril.
