Prinivil (lisinopril) is prescribed to control blood pressure in people with hypertension (high blood pressure) or congestive heart failure or who have had a heart attack, to help increase the odds of survival. Although everyone reacts to the drug differently, in most cases, it takes about six hours for Prinivil to fully take effect. Some people, however, may not see an improvement in their blood pressure for up to two to four weeks.
