How soon after starting Lotensin will my symptoms improve?

Your blood pressure should improve soon after you start Lotensin (benazepril), a medication for the treatment of high blood pressure. Blood pressure begins to fall about an hour after your first dose, but the drug may take a week or two to have its maximum effect. A single dose should continue to lower your blood pressure for 24 hours.

However, because high blood pressure frequently doesn't have any symptoms, you may not notice a difference in the way you feel.
