How should I take benazepril?

Benazepril (Lotensin) is taken orally -- with or without food -- usually one to two times daily. Drink a full glass of water with each tablet. Take this medication exactly as your doctor has indicated, taking only the prescribed dose for the prescribed amount of time. Try to take this medication at the same time each day. Even if you feel well or you experience no symptoms, do not stop taking benazepril unless your doctor tells you to. If you require surgery for any condition while taking this medication, be sure to notify your surgeon and doctor, as they may recommend that you stop taking benazepril for a short amount of time prior to the surgery.

Be sure to store benazepril in a dry place at room temperature.
