Can I use Mavik if I have scleroderma?

If you have scleroderma, be cautious about taking Mavik (trandolapril), especially if you have kidney problems. Mavik treats hypertension (high blood pressure) and improves heart function after a heart attack. It is what's called an angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor -- and all ACE inhibitors have been found to cause abnormally low levels of white blood cells in people who have scleroderma.
