Can I take Prinivil if I am taking indomethacin?

If you're taking indomethacin (Indocin), you may be able to take Prinivil (lisinopril). Indomethacin is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that treats pain, and Prinivil is an angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor that's prescribed to treat high blood pressure and heart failure and after heart attack to boost survival odds. NSAIDs can cause ACE inhibitors like Prinivil to be less effective. The combination can also cause kidney problems in people whose kidneys are already impaired. Your doctor will probably closely monitor your blood pressure and kidney function if you take both medicines.
