Can breastfeeding women take fosinopril?

No. Fosinopril is excreted into breast milk. This may harm nursing babies. New mothers should talk with their doctors before taking this medicine. In a research study, when 20 mg. of fosinopril was taken daily for three days, it was found in breast milk. Nursing women are advised not to take this medicine. However, your doctor may be able to prescribe a different medicine.
