Besides being eminently qualified and exemplary in that sense, Dr. Adamson for years has consistently shown herself to be a very kind, caring human being. She sets the curve for eye care and for human connection, taking seriously the words of Sir William Osler that, "The practice of medicine is an art, not a trade; a calling, not a business; a calling in which your heart will be exercised equally with your head."
