Dr. Pedoto is one of the most compassionate and friendly guys you will ever meet. I started seeing him due to a tragic death that really effected me deeply. Dr. Pedoto helped me tremendously through this terrible time and continued to help me for two more years through other life issues that we all experience such as marital issues, sick family members and work stress. I can not say enough good things about this fine man. I spent my whole life thinking reaching out for help was weakness and bottled everything up. Please do not think like me and take the steps to make your life better. You will find success with Dr P.

About Me

Care Philosophy

  • Work in this practice is based largely on principles of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). CBT is the most widely used evidence-based psychotherapy. An active-directive (full involvement of therapist in sessions), goal oriented and largely present-centered focus is employed. A premium is placed on challenging and changing ongoing dysfunctional thinking which leads to debilitating emotions (e.g., depression, anxiety, anger) and self-defeating behaviors. Some beliefs held by patients have roots in the past and developed out of family or other key early relationships. These will be explored as well with an emphasis on how not to keep re-indoctrinating yourself with ideas that have caused you misery. Dr. Pedoto studied directly with Dr. Albert Ellis, the ``grandfather`` of cognitive behavioral therapy and is an Associate Fellow of the Albert Ellis Institute (New York City). He also taught CBT at the graduate level as a tenured professor (retired 2017).
