Johanna was my therapist from 2017 to 2020. She helped me cope with anxious and perseverative thought patterns and also helped me with difficult family and work relationships. As someone who experiences alexithymia (trouble sensing one's own emotions) and really struggles to get words out when stressed, I have often struggled to click with therapists. Johanna was able to work with my strengths and figure out the way of doing things that suited me best. I would recommend her to anyone, but especially neuroatypical folks, as I think she has a knack for thinking outside the box.

I think we need to accept ourselves, forgive ourselves for past mistakes, and embrace our current stressors as challenges to navigate and move through. I believe that we need to understand our thought process to answer the following: Why do we think the way we do? Why do we hyper-focus on some things but then have trouble focusing on other tasks? Why can't we quiet our minds and tune out from our worries?
