Coming in at 420 pounds, I had a life or death decision to make. This is when I decided take my life back, and live a new healthy life. I had scheduled two pervious surgeries with Dr.Chen, however I let fear get the best of me. There were many reasons why I should have done this sooner, but I knew time was running out and my children were my biggest inspiration to get this procedure done. I remember one day my daughter and I were watching a movie, when she slapped your belly and said “ I don’t you to die daddy.” That was the fire in my belly and I knew and that point I was going to do this surgery, if not for me, for her. Finally October 28, 2022 my surgery day had come, I was filled with different emotions depicting whether or not I should leave. Finally being able to overcome my obstacle of fear, I went in and it has been the best decision of my life to date. Dr. Chen saved my life, like many others in my situation, and I can never thank him enough, for his expertise, and knowledge.
