Dr. Nickens is awesome! He is the first physician where I have felt comfortable speaking with him. If I have a question, I ask without worrying about the response I get. I feel like he is on my team, and wants what is best for me. He cares. I never feel talked down to, and he is very encouraging. He cheers me on, even when I feel like I am failing. He has said to me a number of times that my labs are trending down, and my weight is trending down; that is what we want to see happen. I had weight loss surgery, and initially I was really nervous about mentioning it to him. I was scared that he would tell me no. I was just scared about what he would think. He has been nothing but supportive of my journey. He is also my husband’s and brother’s doctor, and we all love him! If you want a kind and supportive physician, Dr. Nickens is for you.
