Dr. Vanek saved my mother's life--on her 80th birthday. She was admitted through the emergency department with a colon that was dying due to diverticulosis. His surgical skills and superb post-operative care allowed her to live another year and a half. Our family was very grateful for that time. I'm a retired social worker with hospital experience, and I have never seen a higher level of care than that provided by Dr. Vanek.
