Patient Reviews
Apr 30, 2023
I was diagnosed with a Colo-Vaginal fistula earlier this year.. I had been hospitalized at Lovelace Hospital in January and was referred to their surgical group. It was the worst experience with their lack of professional and medical integrity. I was gratefully referred to Dr. Vinay Rai with the UNMH Surgical Specialties. Immediately, he reviewed my medical records and arranged for my consult on March 30th. He was so very thorough, compassionate and professional in every way. He scheduled my long awaited surgery on April 12th. Even prior to my surgery, Dr. Rai would contact me personally with lab results and recommendations to serve my needs. The Pre-op care and education was invaluable. His team including the very best residents were so caring and professional as well. I am still recovering, however, I have been given such a gift of new life and I will be singing the praises of Dr. Rai and his team FOREVER. LB

Board Certifications
What’s a board certification and why is it important that my provider has one?

A board certification represents a provider’s dedication to ongoing training in one or more specialties, including the completion of intensive exams. While not all specialties have board certifications, if your provider does have one they’ve taken the extra step to master their specialty and to keep up with the latest advancements in their field.
