Dr. Todd Nixon received a bachelors degree in biology from Ursinus College and then attended Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine where he earned his medical degree. He went on to complete a General Surgery internship and residency, followed by a Cardiothoracic Fellowship at the Medical College of Virginia. He has also completed research fellowships at the Milton S. Hershey Medical Center, the Medical Center of Virginia, and Childrens Hospital of Philadelphia. Dr. Nixon has performed a variety of cardiothoracic procedures at Hahnemann and Graduate Hospitals specializing in beating heart surgery, complex valve repair and replacement, as well as advanced complex lung resections. He was appointed Associate Professor of Cardiothoracic Surgery at Drexel University and Chief of Cardiothoracic Surgery at the Medical College of Pennsylvania. Dr. Nixon joined Delaware Valley Cardiovascular Surgical Associates in November 2004 where he continues to stay current with advanced training in all facets of cardiac and lung surgery. He is certified by the American Board of Surgery, the American Board of Thoracic Surgery, and is licensed to practice medicine in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Virginia. Dr. Nixon also is an active member of the Society of Thoracic Surgery.
