I have been working with Dr. Odar for more than a decade now. He might not work for now, but he realizes that I am a doctor too (Ph.D. type) and treat me accordingly; as an intelligent person who understands the issues related to my condition. He will have your back when the chips are down (i.e., when I was hospitalized with chest pain three years after getting a stent). One proviso though; he does not suffer fools gladly.

  • Thomas J Odar, MD, FACC, is the current Chief of the Cardiology Subsection at Adventist HealthCare Shady Grove Medical Center. He is also the current Director of the Acute Chest Pain Center at Shady Grove Medical Center. Dr Odar obtained his undergraduate degree at the University of Notre Dame. He then went to law school at Georgetown University Law Center where he obtained his Juris Doctorate. Thereafter, Dr Odar attended the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine where he obtained his medical degree. He completed his residency and cardiology fellowship at Loyola University Medical Center in Chicago.
