Patient Reviews
Dec 07, 2019
There is no surgeon I have ever had that makes me feel more cared for and confident that I am in good hands. He has cared for me since removing my lung cancer in 2014 and this past year has worked with me to solve the fistula in my esophagus. Instead of going for a very invasive surgery he had performed several times, he researched and found a new operation that had only been performed twice before (once in France and once in the US. Pulling in Dr. Kleppy, a none invasive surgery doctor at UT Medical Center, he worked with him to insert six small clips into my esophagus. The operation worked!! Dr. Gaines is not only a brilliant doctor, but an equally caring human being.

Board Certifications
What’s a board certification and why is it important that my provider has one?

A board certification represents a provider’s dedication to ongoing training in one or more specialties, including the completion of intensive exams. While not all specialties have board certifications, if your provider does have one they’ve taken the extra step to master their specialty and to keep up with the latest advancements in their field.
