About Me

Care Philosophy
  • Dr. Tessa Manning joined Cancer Treatment Centers of America® (CTCA) in Tulsa, Oklahoma, in December 2018. She is board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and is an experienced psychiatrist. Dr. Manning specializes in the psychiatric care of patients with complicated medical disorders. She works closely with the Mind-Body Medicine team to provide comprehensive medication management and counseling services. “I enjoy serving a diverse assortment of patients with unique life stories,” says Dr. Manning. “My goal is to improve my patients’ mental health and emotional well-being, so they can spend their energy fighting cancer.” Dr. Manning works with patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings at CTCA®. Patients may seek her help for a variety of reasons, including anxiety disorders, stress, panic attacks, substance-use disorders and mood disorders. Dr. Manning also assists with monitoring chronic psychiatric conditions, such as schizophrenia and bipolar disorder, that may be complicated by a cancer diagnosis or treatment. She enjoys helping patients who are addicted to nicotine, alcohol or other substances, such as prescription drugs, to help them gain sobriety. Dr. Manning received her Bachelor of Science degree in biochemistry from the University of Oklahoma in Norman, Oklahoma. She went on to complete her medical degree and a residency in psychiatry at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, Texas. Prior to joining CTCA, Dr. Manning worked in a variety of hospital and clinic settings. She is an Assistant Professor at the University of Oklahoma in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and the Medical Director of the Consult Liaison Service. Dr. Manning is also a member of several organizations, including the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, the American Psychiatric Association, the American Society of Addiction Medicine and the Academy of Consult Liaison Psychiatry. Outside of CTCA, Dr. Manning enjoys spending time with her friends and family.
