Dr. Jeffress helped me to understand my anxiety a little bit better. She also educated me on the negative effects of some anxiety medications, such as benzodiazepines (xanax, Ativan). Prior to meeting with Dr. Jeffress, I had been under the impression that this medication was the only one to help me. And that the side effects I was experiencing (short term memory loss, anger, fatigue, racing thoughts) had to be something else. But once I stopped taking it and weaned it out of my system, these symptoms improved. I have been able to focus better and maintain a more positive outlook while moving through therapy.
