Dr. Hwang was the surgeon who performed a double tether procedure (VBT, vertebral body tether) for our daughter (age 13 at time of surgery) for the correction of her progressive scoliosis. Her surgery was performed at Shriners Hospital in Philadelphia because that facility is best suited to accommodate the thoracic surgical team as well as the spinal team for this procedure. As of July, 2016, no other surgeons in MA can provide this procedure. Clear and caring manner, excellent with children.
