Short version: Dr. Saengsamran, the emergency physician who saw me, did an excellent job listening to and understanding in detail my symptoms, providing affordable treatment options, and sharing important information to manage my care at home to avoid an ER visit during the pandemic. More details: This was one of the best (if not the best) experiences I've ever had in the US healthcare system, which is especially impressive given the challenges emergency / urgent care centers and doctors are currently facing, including a shortage of PPE, which makes their jobs more difficult than necessary (e.g., having to wear the same mask throughout the day and use intense levels of mental focus to not touch it for 8+ hours). It is incredible to me that that even under these conditions, I received a detailed, thorough exam, in a positive, low-stress manner, and I was given time for all my questions to be answered. On a side note, I also learned a lot from Dr. S sharing additional background info
