Dr. Mackey was referred to me to repair my right Inguinal Hernia - my first significant medical defect in my 62+ years on this earth!! I was more than a little apprehensive, and Dr. Mackey's thorough, unrushed and KIND approach with me was truly appreciated during my diagnostic consultation. He discussed, in detail - my options for surgery (including waiting) and I opted for the Davinci robotic laparoscopic method - and I'm so glad I did. The surgery was scheduled almost instantly - and everyone at St. Joseph's was polite, kind, caring and professional throughout the entire process, particularly Dr. Mackey. My recovery was nothing short of amazing - I was prepared for far more possible discomfort than actually occurred, and was back at work within several days of surgery. Of course, I am being careful during my recovery period not to lift anything greater than about 8 pounds. That's difficult - however everything else is back to normal. It was a great experience!!
