- Dr. Pranay Kathuria brings more than 20 years of experience to his position as Nephrologist at Cancer Treatment Centers of America® (CTCA) in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Dr. Kathuria joined CTCA® in September 2015. With board certifications in internal medicine and nephrology, Dr. Kathuria is dedicated to caring for patients by providing guidance and support in managing acute and chronic kidney damage. He works with patients to provide inpatient and outpatient consultative services and dialysis, as well as post-transplant care for kidney transplant recipients. Dr. Kathuria also works with patients who have various disorders of the blood, and with patients who have high blood pressure. “I work hard to continue my training and education so that I stay up-to-date on new technologies and treatments options,” Dr. Kathuria says. “It is important that my patients are offered the latest advances in nephrology that are available to them.” Dr. Kathuria studied medicine at Maulana Azad Medical College in New Delhi, India, completing his Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MD) degree. After medical school, he completed a residency in internal medicine and a fellowship in nephrology at the Postgraduate Institute Medical Education and Research in Chandigarh, India. Dr, Kathuria then completed a fellowship in nephrology at the University of Missouri in Columbia, Missouri, as well as a residency in internal medicine at St. Luke’s Hospital in Chesterfield, Missouri. During his residency, he served as chief resident. Dr. Kathuria is Professor of Medicine and Chief of the Nephrology Section at University of Tulsa, Oklahoma. He is also the Chair of the Medical Advisory Board of LifeShare Transplant Donor Services of Oklahoma, and serves on the Governor’s Advisory Council for the American College of Physicians, Oklahoma Chapter. He has been published in several leading journals and serves on the editorial board for the Clinical Journal of the American Society of Nephrology . Dr. Kathuria is a member of several medical organizations, including the American College of Physicians, the American Society of Nephrology, the National Kidney Foundation and the International Society of Peritoneal Dialysis. He is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians (FACP), the American Society of Nephrology (FASN) and the National Kidney Foundation (FNKF). Dr. Kathuria also has won several awards for his work, including listings on Top Doctors and The Best Doctors in America. Outside of CTCA, Dr. Kathuria is passionate about tending to his vegetable garden. He also enjoys spending time with family, traveling and learning about other cultures.
