I have been in the situation that other reviews hint at where my previous care was not great, with inappropriate prescriptions etc. and he identified right away what was wrong and offered a better path forward. Over the years I have even seen official medical recommendations for my condition change, and he has been on the correct side of them every time. I have great confidence in Dr. Zimmermann but his office employs many nurse practitioners and physician assistants with more appointment times. My strategy is to wait a week or so longer to see the doctor himself and avoid the midlevel providers, especially NPs. One of his PAs was great but left for a different department. UW Health also offers an online video visit where you can select a physician provider and they have been great for low-acuity quick turnaround things, like identifying a shingles flareup and prescribing antivirals.
